Mission & Activities

AD.DAR, which means home in Arabic, is a community initiative for Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Turkey.

As a volunteer-based community center, AD.DAR helps Syrian and Palestinian families, young adults and students to rebuild their lives here in Turkey.

Currently, AD.DAR runs a therapeutic workshop for children, Turkish and English language classes for adults, children and teen's art classes, film nights, yoga and a theater group for young adults.
Some kind of support we offer:

  • Therapeutic workshop for children (5-12) on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Turkish, English and Toefl classes
  • Frequent trainings and workshops such as storytelling, art workshops, team buildings, photo journalism, cv writing...all aimed to help the young adults find work and/or enter into university
  • Helping the children enroll in the Turkish school system and providing support with tutoring, homework, and parent/teacher relations.
  • Turkish for women
  • Frequent free cultural events such as art exhibition, concerts and poetry readings
  • Journal project with young adults- boys and girls

We have close to 15 people coming to each of our classes and have 40 classes a week. We are also supporting families with whatever needs they have

We are also providing arabic classes to whoever is interested.
