New projects on the platform, a speed dating with 5 NGOs, blogs in French, English and Turkish, a running team., plenty of tweets...
These are some of the events we will have in order to increase awareness around Pro Bono and celebrate the Global Pro Bono Week 2015. We want to make as much noise as possible so that everyone would wonder "but what is Pro Bono?" or even better, that they would come to our events to experiment it!!!
18 months ago, when we launched C@rma, it was "just" a cool platform to make a bridge between demand and supply but it fast turned into a real community of Pro Bono volunteers discovering the power to use their skills in another context, for a good cause and getting addicted to this feeling!
Most of them did not come "voluntarily"; they were asked by someone to come and were kind enough to do them this favor. But once they tried, they were 100% convinced!!! And this is great because it means we are not just "an intermediary" but little by little we are also changing the culture from a "distant/ mistrustful" attitude towards a real supportive mind vis a vis the NGO ecosystem.
I cannot check for others, but I have so often these goosebumps (or even tears in my eyes, thank you Enes!) when seeing the results of what our Probono volunteers are doing, when I am seeing NGOs having a better defined strategy, a better view on their market and their added value into that market or better tools to communicate their passion and their cause; I got those (yeah, I am very emotive.. ) also when volunteers are coming to me with sentences like "this is unbelievable how much time this NGO spent on that issue we just discussed while, for me, with my skills, it just took me 3h to solve it"...eye opener!
By gathering in one room experts around one skill, we are also building new network for our volunteers. I remember these three experts on digital marketing from 2 universities and one private firms debating about the next digital wave...
