Social Impact Days

16.10.2014

The forum focuses on the immense potential of cross-sector collaboration, challenging the silo mentality and offering a creative space for new forms of social engagement. We explore how successful cross-sector partnerships can benefit not only the particular actors involved in the process, but also become the driving force for positive social change and impact society at large.

I met people from Azerbaidjan, Armenia, Georgia and Russia both in a formal and in an informal way. They were participants from the Public sphere, from the private sector and from Civil Organizations. It was a huge learning experience about what is driving these countries and how do they see social innovation.

As C@rma, we had also the opportunity to lead a workshop and get valuable feedback on our business model and on the values which could drive people towards pro Bono. One of my main take away from that workshop was that we should not emphasise the "how do you want to help today" but more the "how do you want to be helped today". To be helped to achieve something bigger than yourself, to go beyond your comfort zone to learn new models, new people and help them to achieve greater impact.

The Social Impact Days were held in cooperation with MitOst Association – a Berlin-based international non-governmental organization paving the way for civic engagement in Central and Eastern Europe. The event is also supported by the Federal Foreign Office and Robert Bosch Stiftung.
