IT is definitively not one of my skills...I really wanted to do this website all alone, thinking it will be much more useful once I would need to make modifications; I followed all the tutorials (Lynda.com) and I was ready.
- 1. Lets create a domain name, this is easy with “go daddy”!!! My name (carma) is not available, lets try something else (4carma)...oh, oh I can also participate to auction to win back my name, lets try that as well. I have a name and an email address...this is going the right way. I can have business cards!! (the small things which makes you happy in a ups and down adventure)
- 2. Hosting...yes I know, I should have host my site where I took my name but I like doing things differently isn’t it? The tutorial of Lynda was with Blue Host (and no one told me the first part tough) so I took the hosting on Blue Host...and went down with my tutorial..download webpress...made a blog (why do I need to make a blog with webpress..anyway) download...Filezilla..and then...how do I connect my domain name with my host??....heeeeeelpppp...after getting all the family nervous, I had to admit it..I needed help
- 3. I got help.(thank you Lorissa)..my site is life www.4carma.com ... I have a nice logo and “under construction” yes yes!! I like that!..but why don’t I get that result when typing 4carma in Google?
- 4. Oups....sms mentioning my emails are bouncing back..did I forgot to tell also to Go Daddy that beside my domain name, my email needed also to be transferred?
- 5. It is life!! It is not perfect but it is there. For the ones not knowing me, this is actually quite a new experience for me to accept “not 100% perfect”...but I just learned that in social start up, world is changing every 3 months so I need to advance...I count on all of you to help me improve it.
Leave me comments!!
