Mission & Activities
With the vision of a World where science is the focal point of the society, Science Heroes Association (BKD) works to provide activities, projects and programs to promote and spread, science, scientific thinking and scientific awareness in the society and to meet science with children and youngsters in early ages.
Before BKD was founded in 2011, the founders of BKD bring FIRST LEGO League (FLL), international scientific program to Turkey in 2003. FLL has been organized by BKD for 6 years.
Now BKD organizes 4 international programs for different ages ( 6-10 year olds FIRST LEGO League Junior (reached 1000 children from 24 cities in 2016-2017 season), 9-16 year olds FIRST LEGO League (reached 2600 children from 45 cities in 2016-2017 season), 12-18 year olds World Robot Olympiad ( reached 130 children from 13 cities), 4th-5th grade students, Merak Makinesi (Curiosity Machine) (through the partnership of Boeing- reached 1000 children for the first year) and also every year gives young scientist award through the partnership of 3 different universities president.
In past 6 years BKD reached 14000 children and youngsters from 56 different cities. Children designed and programmed 1245 robots, develop 1180 projects, made 600 Engineering designs. Thank to almost 5000 volunteers for helping BKD’s accomplishments.
