MISSION

CISST's mission is to work as a bridge between the state authorities and civil society in order to improve the conditions of prisons and prisoners’ rights.

ACTIVITIES

• Turkey's Prison Information Network (THEA): With THEA we want to enhance the capacity of civil society by developing a well established cooperation among different NGOs to work for prisoners with special needs.
• Turkey's Center for Prison Studies (TCPS): With TCPS we want to increase academic research about prisons to influence policy developments and to build a bridge between academia and the civil society.
• Letter Project: With this project we want to accumulate and share the letters prisoners send to us to give a voice to prisoners.
• Blogs: On our blogs we share the latest developments and information concerning prisoners with special needs.
