Mission & Activities
Karakutu dreams of a peaceful and just world free from all forms of domination and violence for each and every living creature on earth.
Our mission as Karakutu is to share different point of views with the society particularly with young people in order to reveal the narratives of ignored, suppressed and otherised parties by the official history.
Karakutu is a non-governmental organization that seeks to sensitize young people to human rights and democratic values by evaluating the causes and consequences of historical injustices from a critical perspective.
We want society, especially youth, learns about the past human rights violations and has a critical look at violence and intolerance.
As a voluntary, participatory, innovative and independent organisation, we conduct
-
memory projects with/for young people,
-
meetings and trainings on dealing with the past,
-
and historical dialogue projects between communities.
In the Memory Walk, young people can reflect upon intolerance and violence against different identities and learn survivors’ stories.
