Mission & Activities
SineMASAL has started in 2007.
It works in remote villages in Turkey where underprivileged children and youth lack access to cultural and recreational activities, including the chance to watch and discuss movies.
Through enlisting the support of enthusiastic young volunteers—including youth from other parts of Europe—SineMASAL also deepens cultural understanding and promotes a spirit of giving back.
In 2013, the project reached over 7,000 people in 6 villages in southeast Turkey through its traveling film and cultural festival. Eighty-seven percent of attendees had never seen a film in a public venue before. Additional cultural activities showcased at events include juggling, puppet shows, face painting, and mime demonstrations.
Support for the SineMASAL’s activities is largely derived from corporate sponsorships of events.
Enes is a fellow of the Bilgi Young Social Entrepreneur Awards, YouthActionNet's institute partner in Turkey.
